You’re probably thinking ‘why did Jobs name the brand Apple?’ Well he had been a fruitarian for a period of time and he lived on a farm where they had an apple orchard, so he thought the apple was the perfect food. He had a list of names and had to pick one the following day, ready to sign the business papers and Apple was the favourite!
The famous logo
You will see below the first Apple logo was designed in 1976 by Ronald Wayne. It only lasted a year before Steve Jobs asked graphic designer, Rob Janoff, to create a new, modern logo. The famous icon has stuck ever since and has been used in a variety of sizes and colours. The ‘bite mark’ reflects Apple’s first slogan at the time – “Byte into an Apple”.
